Summary of Interview 091001B with Dulamsüren
The death of her two sons was the most difficult thing that happened in Dulamsüren’s life. In 2004, she lost her son due to kidney failure. Before that in 1998, her other son was killed by someone when he studied at secondary school in Arhangai aimag. The great sorrow in her lifetime was the loss of her sons. She had a stroke due to high blood pressure when she heard that her son was killed in 1998.
Dulamsüren acquired the profession of nurse by studying at the Medical College and throughout her life she worked as a nurse. In her interview she talked about the time she worked, the differences of recruitment processes of the socialist period and now, people’s attitude towards work and so forth. Dulamsüren worked in the pediatric sector for most of her career, so she gained a lot of knowledge and experience in this area. She married and had many children. Her husband was worked at the police office during socialism and he was very busy, so Dulamsüren spent most of her time for her children.
Also she said that they lived happily during socialism and believed that life will get much happier after democracy. However, since 1988, food prices have increased and Mongolians had a difficult time during these years.
