Mongolians hold symbols and blessings in high esteem. In modern language, they are a people who create a positive energy, symbolizing well-being and weakening evil. It seems instinct is not a basis thing. He was born the only son of a family in Tögrög sum of Gobi-Altai aimag. I had the luck to interview Tömörbaatar who has the nickname of ‘Mongolbank’. He has a wide knowledge of banking. He is one of the patriots who preserved the resources like the apple of their eye and enriched and multiplied them while he has worked for many years as the director of the Mongolian treasury. I regret that the case of switching the gold sample and misappropriating the treasure fund happened. Such a thing should never be contained within a Mongolian‘s mind. Tömörbaatar is completely a different person from some indecent and greedy elements of the present day. He is a genuine patriot. A patriot is revealed not only in war. The patriotic view is revealed in a peaceful labor but not everyone takes note of it. The state and the government haven’t noticed him. Such a large burden of work was laid on his shoulders and he strived regardless of his own life. He has dedicated his work and life to have Mongolian tögrögs produced. He used to go without a bodyguard when he transported a great amount of gold and shipped train carriages of Mongolian tögrögs. The key of the ‘treasure fund’ storehouse weighed one kg. He said he wore many keys hanging from his neck. I know many people, the party members of the socialist period who wore their party certificates hanging on from their necks. Not just wearing it but they kept it on the side of the heart, you know. Isn’t it funny? I think it was the beginning of the 1990s. Tömörbaatar is one who is well aware of the history of the gold dealers’ case that has impoverished the Mongol Bank. The newspapers of that time wrote many articles on the gold dealers’ case. In the socialist period the banknotes of the fraternal socialist countries were printed in the “Monetnii dvor’ factory in Leningrad. The banknotes of the MPR were also printed there. The ‘brothers’ printed and shipped them, I presume. In fact, it seems it wasn’t much trouble from one side. From the socialist time he has dreamt of printing the banknotes with a picture of Chinggis Khan and he is one of those who instituted democracy and reform in the banking sector at that time. That’s why Tömörbaatar retired quite late and he has worked for a long time as an advisor. The person who has worked with gold and money all his life through doesn’t live in a big house with many rooms, doesn’t have an impressive vehicle. He lives modestly in the center of the city in a three-room flat with his affectionate wife Handaa raising his grandchildren. He was born in Tögrög sum. His fate was bound with Mongolian tögrög and gold but he has worked honestly without having absorbed a single coin for himself. He is a genuine patriot and a good hearted intelligent person who lives among us. The state sometimes bestows state rewards and the title of 'Honored' to irrelevant people but it is strange that he hasn’t received one yet.
