Summary of Interview 090209B with Anonymous

In this part of her interview she continued talking about the national sports – archery. She herself makes the clothes and the archery equipment and some of them she sells at the market. She spoke of the differences of the Halh and Buriad archery. A person who goes into sports acquires great patience, gets much respect. She feels that knowing the sports discipline, having great psychological training and developing her sum and aimag reputation brought her a great many changes. She has said that it was the sport which ignores age and she was proud of it.

Mongolia is the only country in the world that has the three games of men. But nowadays there’s no place for archery competition. During the people’s revolutionary naadam festival the wrestlers approach the nine white flags of the state and they worship them but the bowmen have no right to go there. At the naadam opening the bowmen are let in and in an instant they let them back out of the stadium. In this way the archery sportsmen are not being considered, she said.

She was a cashier at the canteen during the privatization process. Privatization was carried out in the wrong way wasting everything. A group of people gained in it and it was a chaotic process.

The Gobi women have a unique living and they have peculiar style. Their men are very different. The reason they say there is a lack of men is related to the repressions, she explained.

There’s a beautiful unique nature when you go further from the Hamriin monastery of the saint noyon Danzanravjaa of the Gobi. There are still many monasteries there. All the men had been settled and concentrated there but during the repressions all of them were assassinated.

In the final part of the interview she shared her views on the present-day government and she expressed her critical attitude. At the end she addressed the young people to improve the name of Mongolia when going abroad, and to learn the Mongolian customs and Mongolia when you are home.
