Summary of Interview 080822B with Maihüü
In this interview Maihüü tells about the nursery school where she has been working for thirty-five years. When she first arrived she found the nursery without toys for children to play. There were no books or manuals for teachers either. The contrast between the nursery schools in Ulaanbaatar and those in the country-side was phenomenal. It was only in 1979, in the year dedicated to children, that all nursery schools across the country were provided with toys.
Maihüü compares the nursery school in the socialist period and today. In the past, for example, nursery school teachers had to improve their qualification once each five years, and food in nurseries was good. In the socialist period, families had many children, but today only two on average.
